2. Guidance to all my friends who visit Korea for the first time

1. Hello! Are you traveling to Korea? If so, this post might be helpful. I will guide you from Incheon Airport to your hotel. But only by bus. I’ve never taken the train before, so I don’t know how that works. You’ll have to figure that out yourself. Also, this guide is based on Terminal 2. I repeat it’s Terminal 2!! not 1!! from one, you also have to figure it out by urself. oke let’s go!

2. Hey u survive the plane! That’s good. After the landing, you’ll run into this crossroad. Pink for foreigners to the left, and blue for the residence to the right. Well the left area is a unknown world to me, since I have a blue passport my whole life. So I don’t know how korean inspector treat foreigners, but I’m pretty sure they will be nice to you! And I hope they won’t detain, interrogate and suspected you as a criminal and reject ur entry before even the trip starts. Anyway don’t worry, I’ll just be going to the right. 나는 오른쪽>>, 너는 왼쪽이야<<.

3. After a warm welcoming by ur inspector, next is to the baggage claim. My area number was 14, so I went to 14. check ur carousel number on the screen!

4. The Area 14 carousel was pretty busy because bags from three different countries were coming out there. I had to wait a bit, but not too long. While I was standing there, I kept thinking, “Am I really in Korea??” I looked around and thought, “Oh I don’t see Japanese signs anymore, my Japanese life is really over?” It all felt so surreal. I definitely needed some time for it to sink in.

5. I found my bag! This cabin luggage was 10kg, and checked bag was 15.6kg. I still have more stuff but since the flight luggage are expensive(about 10dollors per kg). I shipped rest of the stuffs to home. so it will take about 2weeks. And oh! I need to focus on guiding exexxeexexe! Please follow the green line and push ur cart! Push! push! Don’t stop! keep ur ass moving.

6. Even if u have a dangerous item in ur bags, don’t declare it. Just move on, and go out, and viola! WTK! u can see group of crowds waiting for you smiling with the signs saying welcome home! Well Actually no. there’s no one waiting for u u pathetic piece of shit.

Follow the sign 철도, 버스 Rail & Bus>> walkwalkwalk

Take elevator to the B1>> walkwalkwalk

7. And walk a little bit more to the left and straight, and on the right side, u may find the yellow bus ticket booth.

8.The ticket was 15,000 won, and I bought it from the kiosk. But don’t worry—you can also buy it from the staff if you’re not sure how to use the machine. You just need to check which airport bus stop is closest to your hotel, or simply tell the clerk where you’re going. When you buy the ticket, make sure to check these three things:

  1. Arrival bus stop name

  2. Departure time

  3. Seat number

  4. Platform number

9. The most important of all is the seat number!!! u need to get a seat on the window seat on the LEFT!! REMEMBER! ON THE LEFT! TELL THE CLERK!! “I NEED ANY WINDOW SEAT ON THE LEFT!!” Thank me later.

10. After I bought my bus ticket, I felt a bit less nervous and treated myself to some makgeolli, a classic one. But the moment I tried to relax, I suddenly remembered that my ukulele was missing. And I knew exactly where I had left it. On the god damn plane. I can’t imagine being without it, so I immediately ran back to the ticket booth, canceled my ticket, and rushed back the way I came to ask for help. I guess I’m never allowed to relax until I’m safely home, huh?

11. It was Sunday, so I couldn’t call the airline’s service center directly. Instead, I contacted the airport service desk, and they connected me to the right people. Long story short, they found my bag and brought it back to me. They were really kind and helpful.

12. U know things like this can happen. There were too many items in the overhead bins, so I had to put my bags in three different ones. The important thing is not to panic; people are usually willing to help you. Well, maybe no. If you’re not cute enough, they might not help u sorry.

13. I bought my new ticket. I’m so tired of this shit let’s fckign go home yey

14. And finally before u sleep in the bus, wait for 3 to 5minute after the departure. This is the reason why we had window seat on the left sides. It’s the vip seat for a magnificent sculpture! Seat back and relax!

15. This art sculpture is called 미래로의 비상 (Flight into the Future). It is 18 meters tall and made of stainless steel, with a disco-ball-like texture. There are rumors that it looks like a 남근석 (a phallic stone), but personally, no. I think it looks like a giant baseball bat and ball. indicating that u can swing the ball, ur goals make it fly high into the sky, toward a high future. Whatever the intended meaning is, it is considered a beautiful sculpture at Incheon Airport in the media. By the way, I heard that about 2.4 billion won was spent to make it.

16. Also, I noticed that if u take bus from terminal 2, u can watch it 3 times. left and right side and then left side again. Full angle view, huh? Since my family is working in this industry, I always never forget to take a moment and appreciate the hardworks that goes into the making of this.

16. If u see this, that’s when u know u are really in Korea. have a good nap on the way to your hotel. Ah and also one more tip, the bus driver will skip ur stop if nobody answers it. HAve fun!
